The Brecksville-Broadview Heights Board of Education will meet on Monday, May 20, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. at the Education Center, 6638 Mill Road, Brecksville, 44141. Students in grades K-8 are traditionally dismissed early on their last day of school. This year on Friday, June 7, dismissal for those students will be as follows:

This year Newsweek's ranking of the best 2,000 public high schools in the nation placed BBHHS as number 605. This ranking is given to those high schools proven to be the most effective in turning out college-ready grads. The list is based on six components: graduation rate (25 percent), college acceptance rate (25 percent), AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student (25 percent), average SAT/ACT scores (10 percent), average AP/IB/AICE scores (10 percent), and percent of students enrolled in at least one AP/IB/AICE course (5 percent).
Also, U.S. News & World Report ranked Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School 32nd in Ohio for being a high-performing school related to college readiness for all students.
Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School senior Matt Adrianowycz has been named a Chemistry Olympiad national finalist making him one of the top 20 high school chemistry students in the United States. Matt will attend the study camp at the US Air Force Academy in June for two weeks. The top 4 students from the study camp will then represent the US at the International Chemistry Olympiad which will be held in Moscow, Russia in July 2013.
Approximately 10,000 U.S. students participate in local Chemistry Olympiad competitions. Exams are administered and coordinated by American Chemical Society local sections annually in March. Students are nominated for the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad competition based on exam scores and teacher recommendations.
This is the third consecutive year that BBHHS has had a student qualify as one of the top 20 chemistry students in the nation and attend this camp.
The Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School Science Olympiad team qualified for and competed at the Ohio State Tournament in Columbus. Team members were seniors: Matt Adrianowycz, Cecilia Chen, Stephen DiScenna, Evan Matuszak, Derrick Nowak, Nivaas Thanoo, and Eda Wu; junior: Josh Dietrich, sophomores: Allison Loughner, Divya Madhavan, Jon McMahon, Priya Pookkulam, and Peter Sankovic, and freshmen: Emery Dalesio and Noah Paulsen. Vibhatsu Amin, Jammy Feng, and Jay Patel were the alternates.
Overall, the BBHHS team placed 7th in the state! Advisor and high school science teacher Emily Gardner is proud of the team's success and continuing improvement moving from 28th place two years ago to 15th place last year and making the top ten this year.

3rd Place: Materials Science- Matt Adrianowycz and Cecilia Chen
4th Place: Chemistry Lab- Matt Adrianowycz and Derrick Nowak
5th Place: Designer Genes- Matt Adrianowycz and Eda Wu
The Board of Education approved the 2013-2014 school calendar at their December 17, 2012 meeting.
Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School has been recognized for the second consecutive year by the College Board’s AP Honor Roll. BBHHS is one of only 539 school districts in the nation recognized this year by the College Board with a place on its third annual AP® Honor Roll for opening AP classroom doors to a significantly broader pool of students, while maintaining or improving the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher.
Information about and the forms necessary to complete Kindergarten Registration are posted for parents and guardians. Please register your child for either the traditional half-time program or the tuition based ($2,600 annually) all-day program as soon as possible so we may better plan for your child's educational program.
