All-Day Kindergarten

We're pleased to continue the highly successful opportunity for a tuition-based all-day, every-day kindergarten program. We will hold a district-wide Kindergarten Open House for PARENTS ONLY of students entering kindergarten in fall of 2012 who are interested in the all-day option. The open houses will be held at all elementary schools on February 16, 2012. This event gives parents the opportunity to meet teachers and staff, see the classroom, and ask questions. Date of February Board of Education Meeting Changed

The regular February Board of Education meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 29 at 7 PM at the Board of Education, 6638 Mill Road, Brecksville. Please note this date change from Monday, February 27.

2012-13 Kindergarten Pre-registration

The Brecksville-Broadview Heights City School District will begin pre-registration in February for students who will attend Kindergarten for the 2012-2013 school year. The procedure has changed and parents no longer need to pick up a registration packet at one of the schools.

By mid- February, parents will be invited to visit this website and click on the KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION button to pre-register their child. Once pre-registration is completed, parents will be sent an email which will let them know the documents and other information required for actual registration in March.

The Kindergarten Registration Event is scheduled for March 13, 14 and 15th, at the Board of Education, 6638 Mill Road, Brecksville. Questions about kindergarten registration can be directed to the Enrollment Office at 440.740.4027.

Board of Education Set for 2012

David Tryon will serve as President of the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Board of Education for 2012. Mark Jantzen remains as Vice President. They were elected to these positions by fellow Board members at January 9th's Organizational Meeting. At that meeting, Mark Dosen, Kathleen Mack and Michael Ziegler took the oath of office and began their four year terms. The Board's committee's assignments were also established at the Organizational Meeting.

CVCC Offers Free Parent Seminar

The Cuyahoga Valley Career Center will off a free parent seminar, "Think Before You Click," on Thursday, February 16 from 7-9 PM. This program will be of special interest to parents of middle school and high school students as they guide their children through the proper use of social media, texting and on-line options.

Service Projects Link Schools and Community

All second graders at Chippewa have been asked to do a service project during which they help others in their community. They have been encouraged to take photographs or create drawings of their active participation and create a poster spotlighting their efforts to share with their class. Through this project the students actively become aware of how a little help goes a long way and the importance of taking part in community projects. To support our students, the second grade teachers all participated in either a church or community project as well. Click the picture to take a look at the video gallery.
