Disaster Drill

On October 16, 2009, the Brecksville-Broadview Heights School District, in cooperation with local police and fire departments as well as Parma hospital, organized a disaster drill at our own middle school. Our school district and communities have diligently worked to create a plans for a disaster situation in one of our schools.

The drill, coordinated by School Board President George Balasko, was designed to test the safety systems, safety plans, and communications systems used by the schools and the local safety forces. This video was prepared by BeeTV documenting the drill and the experience gained by school officials and local safety forces.

Unprecedented 7th Consecutive State Title
The Bees Gymnastics Team set a state record on March 5th by winning its tenth state championship and setting a new record for consecutive titles by capturing the top spot for seven straight years. Coached by Ron and Joan Ganim, the team won by 6.45 points, the widest margin of victory since 1991.
 
BBHHS senior Leah Miko was named all-around champion after edging out fellow Bee Diana Moock by only 0.225 of a point. Ron Ganim was named as the recipient of the Ohio High School Athletic Association's Sportsmanship, Ethics and Integrity Award. 
 
Representing BBHHS were seniors Jackie Jessler, Emily Mahnke, Leah Miko, Dianna Moock, Alex Putich, and Amy Trippet, junior Meghan Doherty, sophomore Jullianna Kivett, and freshmen Jessie Matia, Mea Weaver and Madison Weisbarth. 
 
Congratulations to our hardworking Lady Bees.
Neff to be presented with OSBA Award

For the second year in a row, Teffi Neff, board member of the Brecksville-Broadview Hts. and Cuyahoga Valley Career Center school boards, will be presented with the Ohio School Boards Association Award of Achievement at the association's regional spring conference held in Warren on Wednesday, March 24, 2010.

The Award of Achievement is given to school board members in recognition of their commitment to training and leadership activities on their boards of education and region and statewide OSBA activities.

Brecksville-Broadview Heights - “Excellent with Distinction"

The Brecksville-Broadview Heights City School District has once again - for the tenth consecutive year - earned the highest rating on the Ohio Department of Education’s Local Report Card. Additionally, due to the district’s scores and academic growth rate in student achievement on the Ohio Achievement Tests and the Ohio Graduation Tests, the district earned for the second time possible the newest and now highest rating of “Excellent with Distinction.”

The Board of Education and the administration thank the students and staff for their hard work, as well as parents and other community members for their continued support of the Brecksville-Broadview Heights City Schools. Without that support, our students would not be able to achieve at such a high level.
